Visual Kei

For those who don't and do know about Visual Kei, I'm going to write a short post about it from information that I found on the internet and information that I already know. (credits: to homeless visual kids website and other websites where I checked up information verify that it was correct and for having the information about the different genres). Visual Kei is predominately dominated by males, although there are some female bands gaining recognition, some famous Female bands are

Visual Kei is about music and fashion, Visual kei started from Japan and its a type of genre of rock music with pop, hip hop, punk elements etc. Depending on the band, a different "theme" or "concept" will follow and using this theme or concept, bands will dress accordingly and their music will follow this theme or concept.

Its been said that X Japan first helped to create Visual Kei, they used to have spike up long hair and heavy make up during the start of their career, Yoshiki was the cross-dresser in the group and used to have long, blonde wavy hair and wore red lipstick.

X Japan when they first started out.

"Psychedelic Violence of Visual Shock" - X Japan

This was how X Japan described what Visual Kei was and it was truly an explosion of colour, not just Oshare kei bands but other styles, too had colourful make up or clothes, or personalities... they were just caring as much music as about the fashion and stories they carried in their music.

Some sub-genres are (okay, I can't list all sub-genres because we would be here until next week and this post would be like 10 pages long and everyone would be bored to death) :

Oshare Kei- whilst Visual Kei is darker, Oshare Kei band members use bright colours and funky and cute looking accessories, so popular clothes in bright colours that I have seen them using include  red, pink, yellow, blue, green, purple etc. Make up is lighter so its more about enhancing thei face, and the fashion reminds me of some of the clothes the kids of Harajuku would wear. This is my personal opinion but Oshare Kei is more wearable compared to the other sub-genres. Famous Oshare kei bands include An Cafe, SuG,   Paradeis etc amongst others... some popular songs are "Smile Ichiban Il Onna by An Cafe" , " Sweet Toxic" by SuG. Also, the music has a more pop feeling to it.

Paradeis

Kote Kei - Kote Kei is the opposite of Oshare Kei and has two sub genres black kei and white kei. Kote kei which is also sometimes written as kotekote, this type of kei is this most traditional kind.It is also the oldest style of visual kei. Some examples of this are "Lareine" , "Dir En Grey" amongst others.

Laraeine

Dir En Grey

Angura Kei - which comes from the English word "underground" , bands in this genre will wear more traditional Japanese clothing such as the kimono, some famous bands include "Kagrra" and "Inugami Circus-Dan".

Kagrra

I chose a few of the many different genres check out the "Homeless Visual Kids website - http://homelessvisualkids.wordpress.com/2011/11/07/a-look-into-visual-kei-sub genres/ - for more information and once again, credits for this website which gave me examples of bands and the differences between each style".

Also, credits to the owners of the pictures that are used for this post.

I'm going to finish with a few pictres with visual kei bands that I like because of their music or/and style of clothing/costumes.

I am sick again plus other updates~

The title is meant to be.... "..." I don't know. I just filled this one up with a uncreative title. Sorry.

I am alive! Sorry about the lack of posts, a birthday update will be up soon. Right, now I'm swimming in the amounts of school work. Tomorrow, I will go to school extra early to finish some school work.
Anyways, I've been sick since last Thursday, I got a really bad throat (no tonsils) and erm then it developed into a fever and Friday, I was stuck on the sofa, hungry because I was too weak to get up and eat. Once, I ate and took some medicine and fell asleep. I felt that I was in a more comfortable state in the evening. Now, I'm just coughing, runny nose and tired. =.=

HAS ANYONE HEARD WHAT HAPPENED TO hide grave :'( how could anyone be so disrespectful, even if he wasn't a famous person. It's disrespectful to steal a person who has already passed aways photo, pour alcohol and damaged their headstone (refer to my previous post for more information from the Shattered Tranquillity website that I shared it from). Poor hide, he was such a kind soul and wonderful person, just let him rest in peace please. I miss him so much, I wish he was still alive, so I could go and see him in concert. He looks like such as a gentle, sweet and kind soul.  I feel for his family, friend and the members of X Japan must be pretty angry. Please share your thoughts with me in the comments box.

Anyways, ending on a high note. Does anyone know where I can get those face masks that a lot of people in Japan and other areas of Asia where as fashion? It appears a lot on Tokyo Fashion and it just gives the nose and mouth. I always wanted one because they look cool. Thank you! Good bye! Take care!

~Happy Birthday hide~

Today (13th of December) is hide's birthday!!! I really miss him such a kind soul that is already not in this world. Well, if you like VK you don't have to heard hide or X's music not to know who he is. This pink haired and shy smiled dressed in flamboyant costumes.

My favourite thing about hide, he helped a girl who was born with a illness, that was extremely rare, her name is Mayuko Kishi (she already passed away in 2009 :'() well hide donated his bone marrow to her, the long and short of it and she ultimately out-lived him. She was at his funeral, where Yoshiki comforted her despite his heartache.

The internet has some articles taken from her diary, floating around and you can read it. Then you can fully understand the extent the kindness that hide was.

Everyone, imagines him as a being very tough and "macho" but he's really shy and sweet, actually all of X Japan are.

Here are some song recommendations from me:

"Pink Spider" - I guess that hide's most famous song. Apparently, it was the nickname that Yoshiki gave hide, who originally didn't like the nickname but I guess, he grew to like it (?). I'm not too sure, you can correct me in the comment box.

"Beauty and Stupid"- incredibly catchy, fast-paced song, very 'hide' like.

"Rocket Dive" - again so freakin catchy, the MV of this song is cool.

"Eyes Love You" - hide has white hair and is wearing a white outfit.

"Goodbye" - is probaly the only ballad here, where hide just plays a guitar wearing simple clothes.

"Junk Story"- fast paced, guitar solo *thumbs up*. --->>>> this is my favourite song.

Thank you for reading XD My next post will be about my favourite blogs, so basically, the ones I follow but I'll share with you, why I decided to follow these blogs.... *comeback to read next post especially if I follow you*

Favourite Jrock bands and why?

Tell me your favourite Jrock bands and why? I want to see which bands are the most popular, lately I've listened to Dog in the Parell World (I was shocked by how deep the vocalists voice is), Acid Black Cherry (Yasu's blonde hair makes him look even more handsome) and more of An Cafe/SuG/The Gazette.

I'm interested in Panic Channel, Nightmare and Plastic Tree, of course I love X Japan, I love all of there songs, I also like their drive and how they pursued when they had nothing. Did you know originally Toshi was on guitar and Yoshiki was on vocals, however Yoshiki's voice was weak and high-pitched. Obviously, no records could be sold on such a interesting singing voice lol........... Yoshiki is talented in so many other areas, he doesn't matter that he can't sing. There were two other members originally and then the left the group... I can't remember their names :/

Anyways, tell me. Your favourite bands, songs and why?

In X Japan, my favourite member is either Yoshiki Hayashi, Hideto Matsumoto or Sugizo

In An Cafe, my favourite members... why don't you go on my 'Prince Happiness An Cafe's 30 Day Challenge' and find out. Its my other blog, so just go to my profile :P and choose that blog!!!

My favourite member of The Gazette is Uruha and Kai.

On a light note: It's almost Christmas and what does everyone wish for? What kind of celebrations, do you like about Christmas?

Happy Birthday King Yoshiki!

Today (as in 20th of November since I published it yesterday) is Yoshiki Hayashi (Leader, composer, songwriter, drummer and best friend of vocalist Toshi) of X Japan~ he has been part of a band called Globe and is a midst of producing Violet UK. He is also part of Super band S.K.I.N which also has members Sugizo, Miyavi and Gackt (Now, you can see why it's a SUPER band). In the same room, you can get Yoshiki, Sugizo, Miyavi and Gackt, I'm sorry but that's pretty awesome!

Check out Yoshiki's twitter to see his updates and he posted a picture of his birthday cake-->  http://twitter.com/yoshikiofficial (You can follow him here if you would like, if you have Twitter but you don't have too)

Check his official Facebook page here --> http://www.facebook.com/messages/conversation-id.363866897039508#!/YoshikiOfficial?fref=ts  (You can also follow him here if you would like, if you have facebook, again you don't have too, his fb official page includes his google (social thingy) and weibo (chinese twitter) accounts).

I know this post is late~ but Yoshiki and X Japan are truly great!

"Born to be free, no one can steal my life away," -X Japan

Also, I feel some people say that X Japan's new stuff after they reformed isn't that great. I think they are expecting too much. They are no longer young, they can't be screaming and shouting, druming and playing for ages.

Yoshiki has a hernia disk thingy and has to wear a neck brace when he plays the drums :( he did this because he loves his fans and music, he completely destroyed his neck. Although, I'm glad he's not as skinny as he used to be. He looks healthy and musclar now!!

There aren't really words to describe how much I love Yoshiki Hayashi! so thank you for being born and being here today~ thank you for pursing your dream and making X Japan real.

I look forward too all the projects and music you'll do, I will keep supporting and loving you as a dedicated fan!!! <3

Another Fan Fiction, please enjoy and leave comments!

One Shot Fan Fiction- I'm not written many fan fictions, let alone finish them, so I hope you be kind enough to read it and tell me what you think. I understand my fan fictions are probaly a lot weaker than a lot of the other stories floating around on the internet.
Name: Insanity of Love
Genre: Love, Drama, Humorous
Characters: Miku (An Café), Die (Dir En Grey) and Yoshiki (X Japan)+plus others.
Plot: Miku and Die are brothers living in Hong Kong; Miku is always getting into trouble with his singing in classes whilst Die is a hardworking guy who hopes to become a painter one day. One day, Yoshiki turns up at their house and he promises them a life of rock ‘N’ roll if they go into business with him. Die is skeptical after all Yoshiki ditched a lot of projects half way when they were younger.
Warnings: None

“I am sick of all of this, Miku-chan,” Die screeched at his little brother.
Miku’s teacher called again, complaining about Miku singing in the middle of his lesson.
“Why? I mean it was a boring, pointless lesson. When will I ever need to understand History? I live in this century, I think about the future not the past,” Miku whined at his brother.
Die folded his arms and smirked. He was annoyed at Miku a lot but he could never be truly angry with him for a very long time.
Miku was dressed in a striped t-shirt presumably from Sex Pot Revenge, a pair of orange trousers and a pair of fairy wings which was probably borrowed from Teruki. His weird but nice best friend.
“Just go and eat dinner and get out of my face,” Die retorted to Miku.
Miku scuttled away, he and his brother moved from Tokyo to Hong Kong for their studies. His brother was an engineer who worked as a part-time artist as well. His specialty was oil paintings.
Miku was still in high school, he had one more year before his graduation, and he was fond of music and wanted to be a musician when he was older. He is not very academic.

Red Lip Tint+ Pink Lip Gloss

Lately, I read a post about 'Ulzzang Gradient Lips' and I really want to achieve this look too, the gradient lips is when the inner of the lips is darker than the outside of the lips (this is what I got from the pictures anways), I actually don't have a lot of money to spend (I want to save up, until I get a job), so I might not buy the 'cute skirt' for now, because I bought some clothes a while ago, and my mum buys me clothes too and there will be sales after Christmas so I can buy one then.

I think if I buy a good quality Red Lip Tint and Pink Lip Gloss, it will cost between eight to ten pounds, its kinda expensive to buy stuff here, I probaly buy it from either Superdrug or Boots, as I have irriated skin and other problems, I don't want to buy cheap makeup and get an reaction.

I also have to purchase some makeup brushes, this is quite important actually, since I'm using a Clinique O2 Powder, it belonged to my mum but she has a different powder and I was using it before, so I think I will use it from now on, it gives a light shimmer and also covers the redness of my skin.

Luckily, for this Ulzzang Gradient Lips, I already have multiple lip balms, so I can save money on buying a new one, in future I might buy a Plum lip tint too~ not sure... we'll see how it goes, my makeup skills aren't great because I don't really wear much, but I am also thinking of getting black liquid eyeliner because it, I like the smokey eye makeup! and I already have dark eyeshadows, dark eyeliner colours (brown, grey (seems of gone missing but I know its here, It still has its wrapper on it :/) and black), I don't wear mascara because I don't like it that much and it also leaves marks on my glasses (I have really poor eyesight --0-0-- (that's meant to be like glasses) :(

Okay, anyways I'm going to go back to finishing my homework and then I'm going to re-arrange all my posters, my friend is also giving me an X Japan one, so I'll have to select a picture for the poster,  my mum has already prepared a really scrummy lunch of curry, rice, goujons (like breaded chicken or pork, today I'm having pork and it's not too hard or chewy), I really like this kind of food, hopefully my mum hasn't made it too spicy, this is one of the reasons why I love Japanese curry, my favourite flavour is the Apple one, it comes in really cute packaging, I think its made for children, that's what I used to eat and I'm going to fill my house with them when I'm older.

~My Discovery into Jrock~

So basically, lately I've become a huge Jrock fan, lately as in last six to nine months before I was a truly dedicate Kpop fan (I still am) to bands like Super Junior, actors like Jang Geun Suk and Lee Jun Ki, but with Lee Jun Ki entering military service and Super Junior members, my music switched towards Jrock, also during any stressful period listening to music that was too cheerful all the time didn't help~ please don't get me wrong, I'm still a dedicated 'ELF' and 'eel '(SJ+JGS fan club) and Lee Jun Ki etc.

I came across the Pink Spider (hide) through Kim Heechul of Super Junior, who is a Jrock fan himself (I'm not really sure what bands he likes) and he sang Pink Spider at one of SJ's concerts, although I haven't been able to find a clip of him singing this song, anyways I clicked on hide's page, this bright-haired, cute young man dressed in a red attire immediately I was intrigued by him.

I actually gasped when I read the personal information bar and it showed the day of his death underneath his date of birth, just 33 years old, hide had already gone, he spread his wings and left this world in 1998.

About six months later, I started listening to X Japan's song's Silent Jealously, then I stopped listening to any Jrock music for about a year? I think...last year I focused on a lot of pop, hip hop and rap music from Korea,  Taiwan and Hong Kong, then in the end of last year, I started listening to hide and enjoyed all of his songs, none of them left me any disappointment from the slow, paced simple PV of Goodbye then the fast movements, bright colours and fancy hairstyles of Dice and then in Jan-Feb, I started listening to X Japan's music and I really liked Endless Rain, Born To Be Free, Jade, Tears, Kurenai etc...beautifully composed songs~!

Now, I'm venturing into other bands and artists like Gackt (Vanilla, Ghost, Love Letter), The Gazette (Filth In The Beauty), Versailles (Reverant Choir), An Cafe (Ryuusei Rocket, Smile Ichiban Ill Onna, Snow Scene etc), SuG (GimmeXGimme), I hope I can listen to more bands in the future and also widen my knowledge, next on my list to listen too are Nightmare (Hitsugi, he's so cute and sweet despite his fierce makeup and numerous piercings), Buck Tick, Glay (got to listen to some of the legendary bands in this scene).

Any suggestions and songs? Everything is welcome! >.<

~X Japan Fan Cafe~

I'm going to sound like a real fangirl here right now but oh well.

Last year, I went back to Hong Kong and my auntie Victoria (on my mum's side) had cut out places to go in Hong Kong, I noticed one of the advertisements, the logo of 'X' of X Japan was on it, I was like 'Hey, isn't this X Japan?' and my auntie said 'Yes' and she asked if I would like to go.

Of course, I couldn't hold my excitement (I wasn't as big of a fan as I am now) anyways, the little cafe was located in Yuen Long, Hong Kong if I remember correctly, it was hidden away and we got lost (my auntie called the shop owner to get directions), it was fairly dark inside but the walls there were framed photos/concert posters of X Japan, the tables two of them had Yoshiki and hide images, it was really great, sadly I didn't see this until I was walking out of the cafe, I can't remember what I drank, hot chocolate probaly.

The images on each of the tables were so nicely chosen and presented, the owner actually seemed a very shy kind of person, not exactly the stereotypical rocker kind of person, but he did a great job.

The best part was the X logo on the coffee machine, I even think Heath, Sugizo, Toshi, Pata, Yoshiki, Taiji and hide would all be very honoured if they could see it!

I guess this band is old and the members are a lot older than me, but I have a lot of respect for them and I also really enjoy their music, BUT I do like some younger bands (I mean that they are closer to my age) like An Cafe, SuG, Versailles but I also love Gackt... I <3 the song Ghost... it's such a funky song with robot dances but a weird PV, a caretaker mopping glass up? lol

Okay that's it for now~ take care~ check out the next part of Prince&Princess too.

~Today~

Today, I was at my friend's house, her name is Hannah, we had a really good time together, two of my friends also came Gabriela and Toby and we were playing on the guitar, piano and ukulele and well I sang badly to Tears and Endless Rain, shame....I obviously can't sing any of X's songs because Toshi's voice is too good, anyways Hannah liked the songs, I love the piano intro of Endless Rain because it's so beautiful and the lyrics of Tears is like a poem, I think I've said this before? >.<

I eat McDonalds for lunch + Sprite but it's the last day of school before the summer holidays, so I just went kinda crazy, I also had some kinda chocolate and happy hippos, its really yummy~!

I'm a little kid for liking to eat chocolate and chips and burger but I'm gonna stop soon also tomorrow I'm going to have a BBQ with my family, it's gonna be good fun if the rain doesn't spoil it but it's not meant to rain.

Anyways, I'm gonna leave with a song for everyone, 'Born To Be Free' by X Japan, enjoy~!

Take care, enjoy your day and happy summer holidays :D

☆彡1 Year Passing of Taiji Sawada (X Japan member)☆彡

Note: If you don't like sad topics, in a bad mood or don't feel you want to feel unhappy please skip this post. Sorry. ☆⌒(*^-゚)ノ~♪see you again♪~ヾ(゚-^*)⌒☆

Death is a sad thing, a lot of songs have been created surrounding this topic but I feel that sometimes, no matter how long a person is gone, the heart, soul and mind will never heal, because the person that is gone, is someone you loved, cared and cherished for~ BUT no matter, how bad you feel, always must remember that person doesn't want you to be sad because there no longer here. Please also remember this is soley just my opinion too.

Well this is post is dedicated to Taiji Sawada, who sadly passed away last year, he had commited suicide after being arrested, he attempted suicide using the bed sheets in his cell, he hung himself, which left him brain dead and on life support, the truth is this is really sad and it makes me feel sad, that even if he did something for being arrested, was attempting suicide really neccessary, his fiancee and mother switched off his life support machine.

I hope he watches over X Japan, when watching the 'Endless Rain' MV, its quite to sad to think two people in that MV are no longer here, I don't say there not part of my life's as they are, I still listen to their music, watch interviews and try to learn more about X Japan, there music can relieve my anger, 'dry my tears with love' and make me laugh with their goofy, shy and kind gentlemans that X Japan are.

Death or losing someone, can really a kill a person, a person can feel lost and lose the feeling of living, instead they feel, they are just there physicially, but not mentally~

☆彡~My idol~ ☆彡

★。、:*:。.:*:・'゜☆。.:*:・'゜★。、:*:。.:*:・'゜☆。.:*:・'゜★。、:*:。.:*:・'゜
One of the few idols of mine, Ha. My friends always say 'he's too old' 'he's ugly' 'blah, blah, blah' , he's the king of Visual Kei, his band are the pioneers of Visual Kei, X Japan describe Visual Kei as (I think) 'Psycheldic Violence of Visual Shock' best describes Visual Kei, an explosion of colours, a burst of wacky hairstyles and the beautiful and extravagent and flamboyant costumes too,  he is the drummer and the leader of this band. Can you guess who it  is?

IT's YOSHIKI HAYASHI~ ( ̄▽ ̄)ノ_彡☆バンバン!! he's truly a great person, he dealt with many hardships along the way, his father's death (commited suicide when Yoshiki was 10 or 11, i'm sorry I need to verify that so sorry, sorry again :( shame on me!), hide's death and Taiji's death (last year) would lead to him creating the masterpiece called 'Tears' the song is cleverly written, subtle message but it makes me cry~ the song is too beautiful.

Then there's 'Endless Rain' once you hear it, the piano intro will be etched into your brain, everytime you hear the first few keys, you'll remember Endless Rain, the video is very simple but simple is sometimes the best right? ヘ(^_^ヘ)(ノ^_^)ノ the intro here is kinda like their new song 'Jade' because the drumming is also etched into my brain, these two songs have very catchy openings that makes it obvious before the guitar, bass and vocalist joins in what the song is.

So you can see he's an excellent composer, musician and has great talent in the drums, piano and the guitar (if you watch Pink Spider being performed by X Japan in the hide Memorial Summit, Yoshiki's plays the guitar in this song).

As for his personality, I think he was a hard person, a perfectionist and made his personality hard to work with at times but I think he matured as he got older, I guess he's like fine wine, and tastes better when there more mature or older in Yoshiki's case.

Yoshiki's smile is amazing *:--☆--:*:--☆:*:--☆--:*:--☆--: his smile shows off all of his nice white teeth but there's this shyness and gentleness in his smile that I love...... also, if you watch Yoshiki in interviews he's incredibly shy especially when he was younger but on stage, he's so different, playing the drums in such a powerful way, it's no wonder his muscles are so musclar...after years of playing, his body looks better now, he was too skinny when he was young and also him playing the piano his magical, he kinda becomes softer when he plays the piano, that's what I think but still powerful~ also his 'drum dive and diving into the audience' I say drum dive becomes he dives into his drum kit.

In future, please take care Yoshiki, it pains me to see you being ill and with bruises and cuts, take care~ always love you~  WE ARE X, forever supporting X Japan.

Music vs Baking

Music would represent me whilst the 'baking' represents my sister Geri, whilst we are sisters and hold a very, strong, healthy relationship with each other, when it comes to our hobbies we couldn't be much different, my sister loves cooking, she especially likes baking, making macaroons, cookies, everything that is known to mankind, whilst I go around belting out my favourite songs, regardless if their in Mandarin, Korean or Japanese, apparently when I was 3 years old, I was singing a song by Teresa Tang (a very famous in fact a huge legend in the Hong Kong music scene, her untimely death from Asthma whilst holidaying in Thailand, left fans across Asia and the rest of the world devastated), she had the typical 'girl-next-door-image' and had a clear, beautiful singing voice which was enjoyable to listen too. Anyways, my dad said I used to substitute my own 'Mandarin' words into the song and the amazing thing was apparently it actually worked, the words fitted in.

Anyways, nothing has changed, I still go around singing the same song, except now I know the actual lyrics of the song, as opposed to my 'own homemade lyrics'. I enjoyed dancing as well, so it's no wonder I know some of the truly popular dance songs of all time, such as YMCA (Village People), She Bangs (Ricky Martin), Twist and Shout (The Beatles) etc. When I go to Karaoke, I just sing and sing, honestly I haven't been to Karaoke places many times but I do at home and at my relatives home and they join in too. It's so much fun, dancing 'Sorry, Sorry' with my auntie and cousin!!!

I think at the end whilst me and my sister are close with each other and hold a strong bond, we also have strong interests that lie in totally different things. For me, music is my life and every birthday/Christmas, a CD/DVD will be there, I will print out lyrics of special songs and paste them into notebooks or arrange them into folders, whilst my sister in her birthdays/Christmas, she will ask for a cookery book, if there is one she wants, i'm glad its like this because it would be irriating to have to share the CD player!

Tears by X Japan

This song, the lyrics, it brings so much emotion and depth, this song will touch your heart for sure. The song is composed by Yoshiki. It is a rock ballad but don't be fooled by it's super soft opening at the beginning wait until Toshi opens his mouth, places the microphone to his lips and sings the first few lines 'doko ni yukebaii etc...' you might not know Japanese but carry on listening until you reach it's powerful chorus which is also sung in english parts of it at least, ' Dry Your Tears With Love x2 Loneliness Your Silent Whisper, Fills A River Of Tears etc...' Toshi sings this song in all its glory and does it for six minutes WOW.

Toshi's voice is extremely beautiful, he can sing two octaves higher than an average male singer which allows him to sing even female songs well too, he eases into the high-pitched parts of Tears with ease, compared to other male singers who hit high notes, that I find it extremely uncomfortable and hard to listen too.

BUT Toshi makes it more than okay, more than tolerable, that's one of the reasons why I like X Japan's music because Toshi's voice is special, it's not squealy or high-pitched or you get the point!

This song always brings me to tears, maybe because Yoshiki wrote about his father, maybe because their are fanvids displaying hide pictures/videos in it.

Anyways, other songs of X Japan, that should be recommended too 'Endless Rain' 'Jade' 'Born To Be Free' my favourite songs, the latter two if I remember correctly are English songs, so if your like me who has minimal Japanese language vocabulary or prefer songs with English words, plus Yoshiki has some awesome drumming skills in the opening of Jade. So please check it out and let me know.

WE ARE X~!!! :D
